Suggested Diameter of Dock Ropes for Different Size of Boats

According to the USCG's suggestion, different boat sizes require different dock line diameters. Amarine Made offers a variety of double-braided dock lines in various sizes and colors to cater to different needs.

For boat lengths under 20 feet, the dock line diameter should be 3/8 inch. For boat lengths from 20 to 30 feet, the dock line diameter should be 1/2 inch. For boat lengths from 30 to 40 feet, the dock line diameter should be 5/8 inch. For boat lengths from 40 to 46 feet, the dock line diameter should be 3/4 inch. For boat lengths from 55 to 63 feet, the dock line diameter should be 7/8 inch. For boat lengths from 64 to 72 feet, the dock line diameter should be 1 inch.
